Note: it is possible to install WSL 1 using a GUI too but it’s much faster to use the command line, and since WSL is a CLI tool it kinda makes sense too! Step 1. You can find PowerShell in the Windows Start Menu. I recommend using the PowerShell app, which you need to run as an administrator. To install WSL 2 on Windows 10 (OS Build 1909 or 1903) you need to follow 4 steps: If you use an older version of Windows 10 you can still install WSL 2 ( Microsoft backported WSL 2 to older versions of Windows 10 in Windows Update KB4566116) but the process isn’t as simple as in the 2004 update. Once done you can you can launch the ‘Ubuntu’ app from the Start Menu to get started, or install the Microsoft Terminal app to start exploring your newly-installed Ubuntu install - don’t forget to run an apt update & apt upgrade though - this is a REAL Ubuntu system, after all! Install WSL 2 (Old Method) This time you’ll be walked through setting up Ubuntu with a username and password (these don’t need to be the same as your Windows username and password). Log in to Windows 10 and the command prompt will open again. The crazy shows no sign of abating either as Microsoft plans to let users run desktop Linux apps on Windows 10 and leverage GPU-intensive tasks.Īnd the best news is that it is much easier to install WSL on Windows 10, as this updated guide shows. “ new architecture presents a better platform for the WSL team to deliver features that make WSL an amazing way to run a Linux environment in Windows,” say Microsoft of the tech. put a real Linux kernel right at the heart of things. And it figured the best way to do that was to add full system call compatibility, i.e. Improved performance was Microsoft’s motivation for created the souped-up WSL2. Plus, new Linux kernel updates will be released as Windows 10 software updates - which is kinda crazy when you think about it! More than a simple version bump, WSL 2 is faster, more versatile, and uses a real Linux kernel for the first time. WSL 2 is a big upgrade to the original WSL Microsoft introduced in 2017. If you want to try out the improved Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (aka WSL 2) in the latest Windows versions here’s how - I cover everything you need to do to install it, in this post. Use the 6resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Always remember to perform periodic backups, or at least to set restore points. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using 1cleanmgr and 2sfc /scannow, 3uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using 4msconfig) and enabling Windows' 5Automatic Update. It performed exceptionally, and I have been using this as my multiplier match reel ever since. I have to confess here that initially I wasn’t using the Tronixpro Envoy Tournament Mag to begin with, but soon into the match I changed my £200+ reel of an unnamed brand to the Tournament Envoy. This is where the versatility of the quick change of mag pressure really pays off for this reel, you can change quickly without any fuss or tweaking. On the flip side, with the wind changing direction later, I needed the opposite, a speedy reel where I could back the mags off to gain those extra few yards with the wind behind me. This would really test the reels magnetic breaking system to the full as a hard side wind can induce overruns and some pretty interesting bird nests. The competition was held in a stiff, north easterly wind for the first two hours before swinging to the south east. With my hectic match fishing schedule it wouldn’t be a surprise to you that the next time the reel saw water was in a match. The magnetic brake system is responsive and easy to control, so you can set the reel up exactly as you want without too much hassle. However, don’t let this incredible speed put you off if you prefer a slower reel. With the reel spooled and leaders attached it was time to hit the beach to see what this reel could do.įrom flinging out the initial few casts I was impressed with its smoothness, the speed out of the box without any tinkering at all is excellent, in fact it’s one of the quickest out of the box speeds I’ve ever seen. As a side note, I have four of these reels which have been heavily used in matches and pleasure trips and each one is still as smooth as the day I loaded them. Within the first few turns of the reel it was obvious this reel was a bit special, it’s incredibly smooth. I loaded the reel with 0.30mm Tronixpro Krystal XT line. So the only thing to do was to get it out fishing! Although I’m a bit of a tackle tart, it’s absolutely pointless having a reel that’s pure eye candy if it doesn’t perform where it matters. I wasn’t expecting a reel costing under £80 to look as good! It’s black and red colouring really does look the part. When I first received the Tronixpro Envoy Tournament Mag I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality. For a long time I’ve been looking for a fast, controllable, reliable but affordable good quality multiplier, so when I heard Tronixpro were bringing out the Tronixpro Envoy Tournament Mag, I was excited! With this my tackle also changes too, with a move towards using multiplier beach fishing tactics over my usual summer outfits with fixed spools. With winter firmly in place my match fishing focus tends to switch towards codling, dogfish and triple shots of whiting. Charlie Tudball reviews the Tronixpro Envoy Tournament Mag, a multiplier reel that's become a reliable, essential piece of his match fishing tackle. Thousands of GSD owners have earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification by demonstrating their dog’s good manners at home and in their community. Known as an all-purpose dog that makes a wonderful companion, it can be found in a variety of dog sports including conformation (dog shows), obedience, agility, herding, tracking and working dog trials. But for more than ten decades one breed, the German Shepherd Dog, perhaps more than any other, continues to be featured in movies, books and comic strips making it one of the most recognized breeds in the world. A partial list can be found at the end of this article. Many breeds have been featured such as the Collie who was featured as “Lassie”, and the Fox Terrier “Asta”, the ever-present canine sidekick for the characters in the Thin Man films. The industry launched the beginning of the public’s love affair with canines by making them movie stars. In the earliest days of film, audience favorites were “Rescued by Rover” (1905) and “The Whole Dam Family and the Dam Dog” (1905). Additionally, audiences love animals and enjoy looking at them. Dogs and other animals have been popular in movies since the early days of film because of their convenience and availability and the fact that animals did not get paid, could be directed and easily manipulated on the set. The exposure of canines to newsprint and the silver screen enhanced the human appreciation of dogs by portraying their loyalty, heroism, humor and intelligence. There was little doubt that once “Man’s Best Friend” and the world of entertainment teamed up, the resulting boost for canines would be noticed throughout the world. We have identified four ZIPX openers that are compatible with this specific type of ZIPX file. Today most modern compression tools support the ZIPX, like, e.g., BitZipper. ZIP extension for ZIPX files, causing competing tools to fail to extract data from those files. The first version of WinZip using the new algorithms broke compatibility with other ZIP compression tools because it used the. It introduces four new compression algorithms (ways of reducing file sizes) to the ZIP file format, which is why WinZip owner Corel Inc., after pressure from users and competitors, decided to name the files ZIPX instead of ZIP. Because the files in a ZIP archive are compressed individually, it is possible to extract them, or add new ones, without applying compression or decompression. The ZIPX format was introduced with WinZip version 12.1. For example, if you have 5 big documents to email to the same recipient, you can create a ZIPX file and get a single, smaller file that is easier to email. Multiple files can be combined into a single ZIPX file, making it easier to upload, download or email the files. How do I open Zipx files in Windows To open Zipx files in Windows, simply download WinZip for free for your Windows computer, open WinZip, select Open and choose your Zipx file to unzip. Navigate to the file location of your ZIPX file that you want to open. Download and install WinZip on your computer. All you need to do is download and install it, then configure it to extract your files wherever you want. zipx file is created, data is compressed to reduce the file size. Extract ZIPX files using WinZip You can easily unzip your ZIPX files using the WinZip application.
